15th Annual
2026 BSH Oktoberfest Fundraiser
New Bern Breakfast Rotary is hosting the 15th annual BSH Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 26th at Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County. The doors will be open from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and maybe longer! Advance tickets for the event, the traditional German buffet catered by The Flame, and early beer tickets, are available online and highly recommended to ensure there is enough seating, food and beer for everyone. This year, there is an event only ticket option that allows people to come enjoy the party, music, dancing, and stein-holding contest; and purchase pretzels and beer. Go to BSH Oktoberfest 2026 for entrance, meal and beer ticket purchases.
The traditional Oktoberfest celebration is usually held in Germany during late September and early October each year as a famed beer festival and fair that has been replicated around the world. For more than a decade, the New Bern Breakfast Rotary Club has hosted this signature event in New Bern to raise funds for their charitable projects in the community including six scholarships, donations to area nonprofits, and the well-established Kicks-for-Kids program that provides nearly 350 new pairs of shoes to elementary and middle school children throughout Craven County each fall in time for the new school year.
This year’s event will feature traditional German-style fare, including bratwurst, chicken schnitzel, red cabbage, German potato salad, and German mustard catered by The Flame. Members of the Breakfast Rotary club and other volunteers from the community will be covering all the bases before, during and after the evening’s festivities. Students from New Bern High School, who are part of the Rotary Interact student club, will also be assisting with selling giant Bavarian pretzels and various tasks during the evening.
The festivities will be at the Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County at 203 S. Front Street. Brewery 99 is making sure there is plenty of beer and wine on hand, as well as offering a specially crafted Oktoberfest Beer just for our event. There will also be soft drinks and water available.
Of course, the thing that makes this event so special is the Little German Band and Dancers from Raleigh, NC. Wearing authentic costumes, and playing all the popular Oktoberfest tunes, this group of experienced and energetic performers will once again lead the crowd in singing and dancing in the true spirit of a traditional celebration.
This year our popular and traditional Stein holding contest will again be open to both men and women competitors to test their strength and endurance. The Masskrugstemmen Challenge requires each participant to hold a one-liter stein glass, filled with water (not beer!) straight out with one arm in front of their chest to see who can hold it the longest. Each winner receives $100! This year our event’s competition will be included in the national U.S. Steinholding Association’s nationwide contest.
How You Can Bring A Smile to a Child in Craven County
. . . and keep the sand out of their shoes!
It’s a sad story…
It’s easy to see how a new pair of shoes will make a huge difference in the life of an elementary or middle school student, not only in practical ways but also as a deterrent to a child being bullied for not having decent shoes.

That’s why the Rotary Club of New Bern Breakfast is planning for the 28th year of our signature community service project, Kicks 4 Kids in the 2026/2027 school year. Each year we provide 300-350 pairs of shoes to children identified by counselors and principals in schools throughout Craven County. The cost is approximately $45 per pair so we need your help!
Bring a smile to the face of a youngster in our community… Here’s how…
Sponsorships for our 15th Annual BSH Oktoberfest are available, ranging from $150 to $8,000 as outlined in the Sponsorship Package below. Attendance at this annual event is estimated at between 750 to 900 enthusiastic patrons. Folks will enjoy traditional German food, energetic music and dancing directed by The Little German Band, and of course, plenty of beer. In addition, the anticipated and nationally sanctioned Steinholding Contest will add to the evening’s fun.
